Life is literature. Or if bookworms like me would have it, literature is life.
Literary Lifestyle Company was borne out of my lifelong love affair with books. It started when I saw those tiny book lockets over the internet but they all looked well, homemade. I wanted them to be more professionally made and durable. So my son (who's the designated artist in the family) and I tinkered and experimented until we formulated our process and locked it down. Then customers started asking us to put in their favorite quotes inside the lockets. My son and I would have endless creative disagreements, (us having polar design aesthetics) until I had to take matters into my own hands, literally.
I have since gone on to full fledged graphic designing based on my favorite literary quotes with only one rule that I impose on myself, that my work always send a positive message. Which I think should be our takeaway from reading.
My designs are now available on art prints, throw pillows, duvet covers, mugs, tapestries, throw blankets, tote bags with more products coming soon.
To date, we have made keepsakes for all sorts of book lovers (and people who dote on book lovers) and authors such as Jennifer Niven (All The Bright Places), Stephanie Garber (Caraval) and most recently V.E. Schwab (A Darker Shade of Magic) who hosted a giveaway of my ADSOM totes on Twitter. I have also worked with several book subscription boxes, namely The Best Damn Book Box (March 2016), LitJoy Crate (June 2016), The Literary Vacation (February 2017), Illumicrate (February 2017), The Letters Lit (October 2017) and Fox and Wit (October 2017). In 2018, I did designs for Duality Box, Whimsify Box, Books and Beyond, Wick and Fable, Gillywick Goods, Fairyloot. And in 2019, I worked with Fairyloot again and Owlcrate. So far, I've done 2 designs for Beacon Book Box for 2020.
